The Fire Crew Chief uses logistical processes to organize, pack, move, transport, and store customer contents from home to our warehouse facility in a careful manner.  Inventory, efficiency, and safety are critical for this role. 

Essential Duties

  • Attention to Safety concerns and the ability to resolve potential risk factors before an incident arises.
  • Knowledge of various types of moving tools and how/when to use them, use critical thinking when navigating structures.
  • Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time.
  • Monitor the flow of contents from arrival on site to warehouse, and after cleaning move back to site.
  • Lead a team of technicians to properly move, transport, load, unload, vault, store and inventory customers' belongingness.
  • Actively train new team members to do excellent work.
  • Leadership - Inspire and motivate others to perform well; Give and welcome feedback; Give appropriate recognition to others.
  • Responsible for productivity, tracking paperwork and daily facility / vehicle maintenance responsibilities.
  • Drive box truck and fork lift safely
  • Inspect completed work and work in progress for conformance to standards.
  • Work with manager and team leader to pre-plan and schedule crews, equipment, and supplies needed for the efficient completion of services on next-day work orders.
  • Become a technical subject matter expert, measured by completion of in-house and industry Fire Restoration and Odor Control Training.
  • Problem Solving - Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; Develop alternative solutions; Use reason even when dealing with emotional topics and customers.
  • Customer Service - Manage difficult or emotional customer situations; Respond promptly to customer needs; Solicit customer feedback to improve service; Meet commitments.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior leadership experience (3 plus years preferred).
  • Ability to obtain Class E license and DOT.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs or move/lift up to 100 lbs with assistance.
  • Experience in a customer focus fast paced environment.
  • Restoration or porfessional moving experience desired.
  • Involvement in volunteer/community service activities.
  • Ability to work four 10 hour days a week and be part of an on call rotation.  The 4 days will be based on production needs.
