About the Role

As our Payroll Specialist, you'll take ownership of full-cycle payroll and 401(k) administration for our growing team. You'll ensure every paycheck is accurate, every report is compliant, and every process runs smoothly - strengthening Woodard's financial integrity and supporting decisions that keep projects moving forward.

What You'll Do

• Process and audit biweekly payroll for all employees with precision and timeliness

• Maintain employee data, pay rates, deductions, and classifications in HRIS and payroll systems

• Manage payroll tax filings, W-2s, and quarterly reports

• Handle wage garnishments, levies, and certified payroll reporting when required

• Administer and reconcile the company's 401(k) plan in coordination with our third-party administrator

• Support annual audits (workers' comp, 401k, payroll tax) and ensure compliance with state/federal regulations

• Identify opportunities to automate and streamline payroll processes for greater efficiency

What You Bring

• 5+ years of progressive payroll experience

• Working knowledge of job costing, labor allocations, and construction payroll compliance

• Strong understanding of payroll tax laws and reporting standards

• Confidence in navigating HRIS and ERP systems; comfortable learning new technology

• Excellent attention to detail, discretion, and judgment when handling confidential information
